The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. With Big-D Idaho Falls you receive the best of both worlds – the dedication of an earnest small contractor and the resources, professionalism, and experience of a much larger organization.

The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. The Ogden operation grew quickly, taking on larger and more notable projects in the food and beverage processing, manufacturing and industrial warehouse sectors. The Bennett Federal Building is an eight-story office building constructed in the early 1960s. Big-D constructed a high-performance seismic upgrade, and renovated the main entrance, lobby, and parking structure. The building was seismically retrofitted with 344 unbonded braces manufactured by Nippon Steel. This state-of-the-art Buckling-Restrained Braced Frame (BRB) system saved more than $2.5 million and two months of construction duration. The aging precast exterior cladding was replaced with an attractive, blast-resistant, and energy-efficient glass and stone curtain wall system. Seismic upgrades also included additional footings, shear walls and reinforcement of the elevator core. The Bennett Building was among the first few projects of its kind in the country and the first federally owned building to use buckling-restrained brace technology. Challenges included PCB and asbestos abatement and construction on an occupied building. Big-D completed the renovations in only one year, with minimum disruption to the more than 600 tenants.

On September 24, 2010, the Balfour Beatty | DPR | Big-D joint venture, with KlingStubbins and Architectural Nexus as design partners, was selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide design-build services for the Utah Data Center at Camp Williams, Utah.
